Our Jase was a fraternal twin, born 1 minute later from his brother, Jude. Jase was truly a light in our lives. He loved all the attention & gave it right back with his hugs. He complained of headaches off & on which we contributed to his allergies; he was always a little stuffy when he complained. He saw a gastroenterologist for constipation issues he had since birth. We keep a log of his diet at his doctor’s request. When he vomited it was when he had dairy(happened literally a handful of times). This was attributed to his tummy issues. We took him to his pediatrician on 2/17/20 for his headaches. His pediatrician saw spots behind his left eye. He recommended an ophthalmologist. 2/19 he had his eyes dilated & we were sent to the ER. 2/20 after an over night stay to begin scanning, he began seizing. After less than 2 hours of scanning, the doctors stopped & did emergency surgery to place a shunt in his head. A tumor almost 5 centimeters was growing vertically on his brain stem. We were in utter shock as were the doctors. Jase never woke up. 2/21 doctors tried to remove the tumor. Late that night, his body slowly began to shut down. During the surgery, Jase’s heart stopped & 24 doctors/nurses brought him back. There they found he had developed Brugada syndrome. Possibly from the cancer. Jase passed away 2/23. Our beautiful boy who would walk outside when leaving the house, would marvel at the sky and tell me ” It’s a beautiful day isn’t it mommy?”.
