Alexa was only 10 month old when she was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. It has been a very rough journey for her and for us. The first year into treatment we practically lived in the hospital. Three-time her health decline so badly that we ended up in ICU. She has had numerous blood and platelets transfusion, 3 biopsies, numerous spinal taps, 2 surgery, and “ normal “ side effects due to the chemo. It has been one year and 7 months since the date of diagnosis and I’m still, in denial, I can not believe that my baby was diagnosed with such a horrible illness. Every single day I ask myself WHY???? WHY my baby???? I have asked every single doctor I have spoken with WHY cancer at this age? No one has an answer to my question, and that’s so heartbreaking to me. Alexa is now 2.7 years old and God willing she’s scheduled to finish treatment in May 2021. She’s a very happy and lovable toddler. She loves to play, sing, and dance. I pray to God every day to keep this horrible illness away forever from my daughter‘s body.
